![]() ![]() It doesn't need to be lengthy just a few snippets about what's been going on behind the scenes and what you hope to achieve across the next month. Over the years I have found starting my newsletters with a section ‘From Jode's desk' gets me in the right frame of mind to start writing about the past month. Parents and carers are more likely to come to you to discuss an issue, become involved in the service or offer positive feedback if they feel you are interested and not just the person running the show. Even if you don't see every parent across a week (especially if a director of a large centre) it's important to reach out and connect when you can. Start your newsletters with a personal note from the person running the service. Here are my top tips for writing interesting and effective newsletters for parents. Parents are busy, educators are busy so it makes sense to ensure your newsletters are an effective use of everyone's time and won't just be thrown into the too hard basket. But they need to be done well or they won't be read. Thank you as always for allowing us to work with your children each day.Newsletters are a fantastic way to share your early childhood service's activities, events and children's learning journeys and interests. Fall Leaves (3’s class- Please bring in any fall leaves you can find while out on walks or in your yard for special projects next week!).Please no juice due to spills! I want the kids to be able to go and get a drink when they need one! Themes this Month I also ask that each child have their own water bottle to be kept in their cubbies if they need a drink outside of lunch and snack time. Please make sure now that the weather will be getting wetter that your child has a change of clothes kept in their cubbies in case of an accident or getting wet at recess. Your child is welcome to come in their costume! We just ask that you bring a change of clothes just in case! Cubbies We will be having fun activities and snacks in both morning and afternoon classes. Halloween falls on a Monday this year so we will be doing a small celebration at school on that day. It’s always fun to look at all of our pictures as well! Please also remember to check out our Facebook Page too for up to date pictures and fun we are having in the classroom! Halloween Rather than making copies every month I will now be posting our newsletter on our webpage Please click on the “Newsletter” tab and it will bring you to our current newsletter. Please review the menu and if your child does not like the items on a certain day you are more than welcome to send them with a lunch from home! This goes for snack too. We do have some picky eaters in our class and I don’t want them to be hungry in the afternoon if they do not like the lunch choice. ![]() We are now posting a weekly menu on the wall by the sign in binder. The state requires that we have them on file for each student. If I do not have a copy of your child’s up to date immunization forms I will need those as soon as you can get them to me. I am so excited for this field trip, the kids will have a blast! Immunization Forms This will be our morning/afternoon preschool class for the day, all full day kids can return to school after the trip.
